| Assured Guaranty Ltd. is a Bermuda-based holding company that provides credit enhancement products to the global capital markets through its three principal financial guaranty insurance and reinsurance subsidiaries: Assured Guaranty Corp. (AGC), Assured Guaranty Municipal Corp. (AGM) and Assured Guaranty Re Ltd. (AG Re). Financial guaranty insurance guarantees timely payment of an insured obligation's principal and interest as scheduled. AGC and AGM are the leading U.S. municipal bond insurance companies and also, through subsidiaries, insure securities outside the United States. AGM insures debt only in the public finance sector, including both municipal bonds and essential public infrastructure financings. AGC insures both public finance and structured finance transactions. AG Re, a reinsurance company specializing in financial guarantees, offers reinsurance to its affiliates as well as other companies. Assured Guaranty Ltd. began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2004. |
