Air Canada Jazz introduces onboard café service offering flexibility, value and choice

HALIFAX, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - Effective today, Air Canada Jazz will enhance the food service offered on select flights with the launch of Café Jazz, a menu of reasonably priced, premium snacks and meals in Hospitality Class. The onboard café service program furthers the airline's business strategy of providing customers with maximum flexibility, value and choice. The initiative is consistent with similar programs recently introduced by most U.S. full- service carriers.

Jazz is teaming up with Cara Operations Limited to offer tasty, value- priced meals and premium snacks to replace current complimentary meal service, where it is offered.

The new onboard café service will be available on Jazz flights of 1 hour 15 minutes and longer, including flights previously without food service. This change is a significant enhancement to the service currently offered on these routes. Meals and snacks will initially be sold on a cash-only basis, and receipts will be provided upon request. Non-alcoholic beverage and basic snack service in Jazz's Hospitality Class and meal and beverage service in Executive Class remain complimentary.

"The introduction of Café Jazz represents the evolution of our inflight service to better meet the needs of our customers and enhance their onboard experience," said Andy Glover, Director, Inflight. "We look forward to exceeding our passengers' expectations."

With items priced at $1-$7, the onboard café service will offer customers more choice and flexibility than traditional regional airline food service. Depending on the length of the flight, menu highlights include:

Breakfast:
- Fresh Cut Seasonal Fruit accompanied by home-style granola with sundried cranberries and almonds and fruit yogurt
- Freshly Baked Croissant with deli style Black Forest ham and Swiss cheese served with fresh cut seasonal fruit

Meals:
