EnerSys Poland Operation Receives National Award

READING, Pa., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EnerSys (NYSE: ENS), the world's largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of industrial batteries, announced today that its subsidiary in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, EnerSys SA, has been recognized as one of the top 20 companies in Poland in 2005.

Dariusz Arkusynski, director of EnerSys SA, received the award in Warsaw on November 29, 2005. Rzeczpospolita, a nationally recognized journal, presented the award based on an analysis of over 1,000 companies meeting multiple criteria, including growth and financial performance. "The rankings prepared by Rzeczpospolita are of considerable significance and that is why the companies that have been awarded deserve to be congratulated," said Andrzej Mikosz, Poland's minister of the treasury.

"EnerSys SA was recognized for its high sales growth along with its investments to support this growth," Ray Kubis, president of EnerSys Europe, explained. "The investments to increase production and improve working conditions total over 66 million PLN ($20 million) in recent years." EnerSys SA, based in Bielsko-Biala in Southwest Poland, is one of EnerSys' largest operations in Europe with over 450 employees.
