Equinix Introduces Network Monitoring and Fault Notification Service to Asia-Pacific Customers

Equinix Command Center Helps Ensure Network Uptime and Reduces Network Monitoring Costs

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2004-- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, today announced the availability of Equinix Command Center to the company's customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The service provides customers with device and application monitoring with fault notification services to ensure their IT infrastructure achieves higher uptime with minimal operational overhead.

Equinix Command Center allows enterprises, network service providers and content providers to grow, manage and control their network and Internet operations by gaining greater network infrastructure visibility and uptime. By proactively notifying customers about hardware failures and network provider outages, Equinix Command Center greatly reduces Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) compared to a non-monitored or reactive fault management system. The service is capable of monitoring routers, switches and network applications, and it also includes monitoring of server operating systems availability and resource utilization. Equinix Command Center includes a Web-based services portal, which allows customers to monitor infrastructure status in near real-time -- from network devices to servers, from anywhere, at anytime.

Australian based NT Solutions, which provides consulting services, software development and technology management, is currently using Equinix Command Center in the Asia-Pacific region. The company hosts a number of mission critical applications within Equinix's Sydney Internet Business Exchange(TM) (IBX(R)) center and directly interconnects with a variety of different network partners available in that center. NT Solutions required a proactive fault management solution that would significantly reduce their internal support costs.

"Since even a momentary interruption in 100 percent network uptime from our network providers results in significant loss of revenue for our business, we need a service that provides real-time visibility into our network operations 24 by seven," said John Stewart, CEO of NT Solutions. "Equinix Command Center provides us with that visibility and the peace of mind that our operations are under constant monitoring for any anomalies."

"Equinix is committed to providing the most comprehensive data center and managed connectivity solutions for the Asia Pacific region, where the highest growth for Internet commerce is expected to take place in the next two to five years," said Philip Koen, president and head of Equinix Asia Pacific. "Equinix Command Center ensures that our customers achieve maximum uptime while reducing operational costs."
