SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2004-- Mobile Data Network Service Provider Deploys Interconnection Hub in Equinix's Network Rich Environment

Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, today announced that Aicent, Inc., a leading provider of mobile data network services and solutions for global mobile operators, has deployed a network point-of-presence within Equinix's Singapore Internet Business Exchange(TM) (IBX(R)) center. This strategic deployment into Equinix's neutral Internet hub will allow Aicent, Inc. to enhance their connectivity infrastructure by directly interconnecting with the aggregation of leading network service providers and other businesses operating within the Singapore IBX.

Aicent's innovative mobile data services build a bridge between the IP world and the wireless world, delivering powerful wireless communications services to mobile operators, Internet service providers, and enterprise customers. The company operates one of the world's largest GPRS Roaming Exchange Node (GRX) networks with direct connections to approximately 30 operators, collectively serving more than 250 million mobile users. Aicent also has established extensive peering relationships, providing seamless roaming capabilities to reach nearly all GPRS/3G operators around the world. In addition to data roaming, Aicent also operates one of world's first and largest inter-operator Multimedia Message Service (MMS) exchanges, and provides mobile messaging delivery and other value added services across all types of 2.5G/3G mobile networks.

"Aicent is a neutral GPRS Roaming Exchange Node provider and partnering with Equinix is a natural extension of our infrastructure as Equinix understands the requirements of telecom operators to interconnect within a network-neutral environment," said Mr. Chang Mun-Kein, General Manager of Asia for Aicent. "This agreement will allow us to further leverage the aggregation of our existing and future mobile customers by connecting to their networks within Equinix's Singapore center."

"Aicent has been able to leverage the global GPRS Roaming Exchange Node (GRX) network in the delivery of their mobile data network solutions and has found that it can efficiently and cost effectively interconnect with many of these business partners within Equinix's Singapore IBX," said Phil Koen, president and head of Asia-Pacific. "Equinix remains committed to delivering a inter-connection platform that delivers increasing value in enabling Internet businesses to interconnect with key business partners within a single, centralized and neutral environment."
