ICF International Awarded Additional $6 Million on Contract with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Firm Wins Additional Work on Children's Bureau Clearinghouse
Services
FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2007--ICF International
(NASDAQ:ICFI) today announced it received an additional US$6 million
funding on a contract it holds with the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) to support the Children's Bureau Clearinghouse
Services. The amendment is for new work under an existing five-year,
$31 million contract with HHS that the company announced in October
2006. It was awarded through Caliber Associates, Inc., a subsidiary of
ICF International.
Under the contract, the ICF team manages the bureau's
clearinghouse known as the Child Welfare Information Gateway that
focuses on child welfare and related professionals. ICF has partnered
with the Children's Bureau and HHS for more than 17 years to bring
information clearinghouse services related to child welfare to the
general public, state and local agencies, researchers, and others.
"ICF International is committed to being responsive to the
government's evolving needs and priority initiatives," said Mary E.
Sullivan, an ICF senior vice president and project director. "We
appreciate the bureau's vote of confidence in our work to support them
in providing information services and other resources to
professionals, parents, and communities as they work to meet the needs
of our nation's vulnerable children."
The Children's Bureau seeks to provide for the safety, permanency
and well being of children through leadership, support for necessary
services, and productive partnerships with states, tribes, and
communities. It works with state and local agencies to develop
programs to prevent and protect children from abuse in troubled
households and find permanent placements for those who cannot safely
return to their homes.
